FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS MY DOG TOO YOUNG OR TOO OLD TO PARTICIPATE IN YOUR PROGRAMS?

You have probably heard the phrase, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." In our experience, that simply isn't true. While increased time of life can allow for certain behaviors to become further engrained in your dog, that does not mean they cannot be undone or that a new way of life cannot be learned. It's all about proper and effective communication, learning what makes your dog "tick," and bringing out the best in your specific dog. It can be done!

On the opposite end of the age spectrum, no dog is too young to start learning the ropes of an amazing life! In fact, training can and ideally should  start on day one with you. You are your dog's leader/guide/advocate. They should look to you as they discover the ins and outs of life.

No matter your dog's age, we can help you learn how to become the best leader/guide/advocate for your specific dog. You don't have to do this alone!

WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING METHODOLOGY?

It would be wonderful if we lived in a world where dogs would thrive if all we had to do was give them treats, toys, affection, and let them do whatever they want 100% of the time. However, the reality is, dogs need more guidance than the aforementioned lifestyle allows.

We follow a balanced training methodology that allows a dog to learn both what is and what is not beneficial for life with you. Our approach seeks to guide your dog to what is positive and will allow them to thrive, while deterring them from what is detrimental and will possibly lead to fear, anxiety, aggression, harm, etc.

Every dog is unique in personality and what may or may not motivate them to thrive and succeed. Ultimately, we seek to get to know your dog and bring out their full potential. We have a variety of tools that we can choose from while working with you and your dog. We tailor those choices, and how the tools are used, based on your dog's individual needs.

DO YOU TRAIN ALL BREEDS AND/OR ARE THERE ANY SIZE LIMITATIONS?

While breed can definitely play a role in shaping a dog's behavior, and size can play a role in how a dog is able to execute said behavior, both breed and size are not disqualifiers for training.

Training can enhance the life of any dog and their owner.

We specialize in tailoring our programs to bring out the best in each individual dog/owner team, no matter the breed or size.
